Very kind of Mr. Parks WMPBA to share this.
I live in vancouver and Ive been piping since I was a kid, its amazing how approachable and friendly Jack is, especially considering he's the best player in the world
Tremendous food for thought!
What’s the name of this strasphey?
This series has been excellent -- thank you to everyone involved! Hi Jack!
"The band is one grand instrument." Well said, sir.
This video is filled helpful information! Thank you MWPBA!
Great playing, Edward!
Excellent piping, Jack! You're an inspiration to me!
Very fine piping!
Great playing, Jack!!
Excellent playing, Sir!
Outstanding piping, Sir!
Beautifully played, Jack!
Wonderfully played!
Beautifully played!!
Thank you, Reid, this was very helpful. I would like to hear more from you on everything ‘pipe bands’. These kinds of details are important.
I'm crazy for pipe bands and have just discovered the MWPBA !!!
Great information! Thank you!
Jack and SFU are examples of how a true piping programme is run. I'm also a big fan of Bob Shepherd and his teaching methods. The playback is always worse than the music in ye'r heid when ye' play it : ) I've seen Jack adjudicate here on the West Coast and he is highly respected and very encouraging. A good scorecard from Jack Lee is a well earned item !
One of if not thee best pipers of our generation and to think he only grew up the street from us.
Well done, sir!
Just beautiful. Loved each variation, particularly the a mach.
Very nice! Killer tone.
Why are you wearing a baseball cap??😂
At 17:15 Reid cites the City of Glasgow Pipe Band's "Brigadier Cheape" set with drum score by Willie Connell. It can be heard here: ua-cam.com/video/hVd0Sn3WW6g/v-deo.html
So if its a cultural free for all then we are doomed to fail because the shared experience of my race "celtic/scottish" is the glue that binds us. More boomers destroying our culture.
Think I recognize that bass head on the right 👍
The "Elephants..... and Old Macdonald" ideas for teaching are GOLD!!
What a gift!
Love this MSR! Great job boys and girls. So great to hear old school sets. PB (WRPB 75-80)
Nice drone sound at start, solid snare pitch and cadence uptake to M; Jig not quite as solid; solid finish;
High A in the Strath...
We would love to see the Nashville MSR if you have it... We failed to capture any video on the day!
Well Done, Mates ! ... Sure do miss being "in the circle" with ye !
Here's their tenor section training film ua-cam.com/video/gpLAuxzmG44/v-deo.html
This is were Ty Fry and these tenors learned their shitty 'flourishing'---ua-cam.com/video/gpLAuxzmG44/v-deo.html
Keep sawin' wood, folks.
WELL DONE, Mates !! ... Great to see & hear ye competing again ! ... Sure do miss being "in the Circle" !!
What’s the name of the church sound, Jesus this is the Paradise, god
Great playing whats the name of the first tune played thanks
Author bignold
It's Arthur Bignold of Lochrosque, written by John Maccoll
lovely Job Nick.
Thank you for posting these! A list of the tunes played would be a wonderful addition.
Thanks to all the Pipe Band Associations that contributed to this effort and to Doug Stronach for recording this. This is certainly more beginner snare friendly
Has to be the best ensemble L/D of all time.
very creative medley, well done.
Fantastic interview!
Nice. I particularly enjoyed your opening and your last tunes.
Very enjoyable video. Learned lots. Thanks gents!
Now being a piper myself, I'm not an opera singer at all but I really adore great opera singers, a second side-passion of mine besides piping. (Laura Bretan for instance is amazing, Denise Leigh, Lucia Popp, C. Bartoli, etc). I seriously would say, Jack, you are seriously the Joyce DiDonato of bagpiping! Joyce has taught several successful singers and she even knows the secrets to a successful voice (few people know you can't have a proper healthy vocal vibrato if you don't learn to trill, for example). If there was ever such an award as the Joyce DiDonato award, I really think you'd get it in the piping circuit. It's not too hard to remember her name isn't it, just look her up and you'll definitely see some similarities. Her teaching, her success, very very similar.
